Our Impact In New Gloucester

Here are a few highlights of my three years as a Municipal Officer for New Gloucester :

Helped Bring Vision, Focus, and Support to our Library

  • Created a Memorandum of Understanding across trustees, Municipal officers, Friends of the Library, and put it before the Select Board, with passage at the end of 2021.

  • Continued as an active Library Liaison, bringing vision and insight from the Board to the Library Trustees and Staff.

  • Voted for new hours, mold remediation, and pushing for additional money for books in the 2023 budget.

Vision for Inclusion and Connection Across New Gloucester Communities

  • Fully supported the creation of the DEI committee and its efforts.

  • Fought to recognize and include the accurate history of Indigenous populations that have continued rights to the land of New Gloucester.

  • Voted for the Parks and Recreation vision for better programming through a Special Revenue to serve the population of New Gloucester, Gray, and its members.

Commitment to Transparency and Connection

  • Advocated for a Remote Meeting Policy that would include a hybrid option for members to stay connected to New Gloucester allowing for members to feel safe, stay healthy, and continually connected.

  • Attended the New Gloucester Open House in order to talk with and connect with Departments and Department heads and learn about current operations and highlights.

  • Met with Brother Arnold and the Shaker Community to learn about their vision and desire for the town.

  • Attended an invitation to the Sabbathday Lake Association meeting in August, to meet and get to know the Sabbathday Lake members and hear the great opportunities they provide the town.

  • Attended numerous town community events and responded to every email sent to me as a member of the selectboard. keeping open every avenue of communication possible.
