"Listening is one of Dustin Ward’s strengths. He also seeks to broaden his knowledge of the community issue by attending community group meetings such as the Sabbathday Lake Association. We strongly support his re-election as a New Gloucester selectperson."

“It's been a pleasure getting to know Dustin. Growing up in Aroostook County, it is clear that he developed a strong work ethic and a love for the rural way of life. He is certainly excited to be raising his young family in New Gloucester. Dustin is community minded, loves talking to people and wants to learn what is important to them. His energy, enthusiasm and empathy make him a great choice for our Selectboard. He will bring a refreshing approach to transparency, communication and thoughtful deliberation in our town. He has a vision and plan for a welcoming and prosperous future for New Gloucester."

“I first became aware of Dustin Ward when he was a guest of Maine Public Radio's "Maine Calling" with Jennifer Rooks. It was gratifying to hear him speak on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion issues. Shortly after that, it was a pleasant surprise to see him on a Zoom meeting of New Gloucester United Against Racism. Dustin has been an enlightening and informative presence in those meetings raising our consciousness as we try to help our community. It was with excitement that I heard that he was hoping to serve our town as a selectman. I hope you will join me in giving him your vote.”

“We have been so impressed with how Dustin goes about solving problems. Dustin is a natural collaborator who has a real talent for finding common ground. He is calm, charismatic, and a genuinely kind person. He is so willing to have a conversation with anyone, and that is probably what our town needs most right now. We need people like Dustin on the selectboard who are eager to listen.”

— Thomas Jordan, New Gloucester Resident

“As a Black immigrant I was skeptical to establish my new home in New Gloucester. I was scared that I wouldn't find kinship here. And when horrific racist statements came from the Town's leadership, I was horrified but sadly not surprised; I had mostly given up hope. But when I saw Dustin on the ballot I felt relief and an immense sense of gratitude that he was going to represent the true potential of New Gloucester and that its diversity, however small, was going to be represented at the leadership level and that all New Gloucester voices will be heard.”

— Joanna Kaze Caouette, New Gloucester Resident

— Stephen Kappes, New Gloucester Resident

"We are happy to throw our support towards Dustin Ward for his candidacy for a one-year term as a New Gloucester Selectman. We would like to see some changes in the Board and think Dustin is uniquely qualified in both education and experience. We believe that Dustin's education in both Political Science and Divinity School will make him a strong candidate along with his work in social justice. We believe that a more diverse Board is needed and Dustin will bring a lot to the table. As a family man with a wife and child and someone with a track record of community giving, we trust that he is committed to making positive change in the community."

— Patti & John Morris, New Gloucester Residents
